Surrounding the character of Salome in Claus Guth's new production set in the Victorian era will be a cast of singers who also excel at acting. The Jochanaan of the performance will be the Swede Peter Mattei, with Herodes being sung by the German Gerhard Siegel, whose portrayal of the role also won admiration in Budapest, and Herodias by the American Michelle DeYoung, all under the musical direction of Yannick Nézet-Seguin.

The broadcast will be sung in the original language, and shown with Hungarian and English subtitles.
