"...Hát idehallgass, édes Büchnerkém, milyen marhaságot álmodtam… azt álmodtam, hogy én nem vagyok már tizenhat éves, hanem sok év telik-múlik és tudod, és sok zavaros és zagyva dolog jön, egészen másképpen, mint ahogy én most elképzelem. Tudod, álmomban leérettségiztem... és kiléptem az élet iskolájába, amiről Lenkei tanár úr szokott beszélni... szóval úgy volt, hogy már huszonhét éves vagyok, és ülök egy kávéházban, és nem jól éreztem magam... úgy volt, hogy tényleg egy író lettem, ami lenni akartam, és már sok könyvem megjelent és képzeld, mégse éreztem jól magam, nem furcsa? Szóval kiderült, hogy érettségi után nem olyan jó lesz, mint hittem. Az esős ablaküveghez szorítottam a fejem, és erősen elhatároztam, hogy most felébredek... és figyelmeztetlek benneteket, hogy mennyi szín és furcsaság és élet mindez és mennyi emlék és mennyi remény..."
