A shakespeare-i tragédiák hangulatát idéző műben két testvércsalád — az északi és déli Schroffensteinek — örökösödési harca fajul véres bosszúvá, ahol a múlt bűnei és a gyanakvás minden emberi köteléket szétfeszítenek. Kleist írása lenyűgözően érzékelteti, hogyan torzulhat el az igazság keresése, ha azt a félelem és a gyűlölet vezérli. A történet megrázó kérdéseket vet fel: Vajon megszakítható-e a gyűlölet örök köre? Képes-e a szeretet áttörni a bizalmatlanság falain? Az előadás közel hozza hozzánk a klasszikus mű aktuális üzenetét: amikor az emberek inkább ellenséget, mint testvért látnak egymásban, a végzet elkerülhetetlen.

The dice and the stopwatch will be coming out again at the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall as it hosts another round of musical ‘battle’. When we talk about instrumental duels in the Hungarian capital these days, it is no longer necessarily Bach and Marchand, or even Liszt and Thalberg, that we are thinking of, because we have our own riveting concert series right here at Müpa Budapest.
Recirquel’s new production, Paradisum explores the myth of rebirth following the silence of a destroyed world, where the means of communication is the body, and the only common language is movement. The creatures of this idyllic existence unfold from the ever-changing, swirling natural forces of the ‘fabric of life’ that pulsates around them, so they can reach the anima mundi, the world soul, through scenes of purification, birth, awakening and ritual.
Szilvia Bognár, Bori Magyar and Ági Szalóki are three leading female figures in the Hungarian folk and world music scene, who have put the joy and power of communal singing at the heart of their new joint production.
