Ez az egyik legismertebb római vígjáték, melyet még a XXI. században is játszanak. A hetvenkedő alakja, melyet később a comedia dell' arte is átvesz Capitano-ként, innen eredeztethető. Ahogyan a mesékben, mítoszokban, úgy a színházban is kialakult az igazságérzet igénye az emberekben, szerettek volna legalább a képzeletben, vagy a színpadon igazságot tenni az őket ért sérelmekért.
Kialakítottak egy karaktert, akin úgymond elverhették a port, akit megleckéztethettek, s ezen nevetni lehetett, megszabadulva az előadás idejére a feszültségektől, örülni a boldog végnek, a mérleg kiegyenlítődésének, ha ezt a hétköznapi életükben nem is mindig tudták elérni. Megtette az ügyes szolga, akivel együtt érezhetett mindenki. Később ugyanez a karakter lesz főhős az olasz reneszánsz vígjátékokban, Goldonitól Moliére-ig.

The film opens with a brief musical selection of golden oldies. These are blasts from the past, even if most of them are still popular. Could it be nostalgia? Or do they serve more as an introduction to the main character, who had once been a successful actress? Or perhaps a satirical element that tactlessly reminds us of who our divas sang for amid the whirlwinds of history?
Eternally youthful even at 80, Géza Bereményi is one of the most colourful personalities on Hungary’s contemporary literary and cultural scene. A first-rate novelist and the director of now-classic films, Bereményi has also, and not least of all, proved to be a unique songwriter and lyricist with an unlimited font of inspiration and a personal stage presence that is an experience in itself.
It could be that even we ourselves often don’t fully comprehend how many ways the digital age has changed our relationship with music. Nevertheless, there remain themes that simply demand an analogue, more traditional approach. Active since the ’10s, singer-songwriter Gergő Szakács has transitioned over the years from monumental pop sounds to more intimate, live instrumental productions, and this journey will reach its next important milestone at Müpa Budapest.
