Ibsen egy újságban megjelent rendőrségi hír nyomán írta A nép ellenségét 1882-ben, három évvel a Nóra és egy évvel a Kísértetek után, épp a Kísértetek fogadtatásán felbőszülve. Stockmann doktort részben saját magáról mintázta: 1848-ban, amikor kitört az első schleswig-holsteini háború, a húszéves Ibsen szenvedélyesen agitált a németek ellen. Látván, hogy honfitársai magukra hagyják a dánokat, egyre elkeseredettebben adott hangot annak, mennyire megveti a gyávaságukat. Annyira kiéleződött az ellentét közte és a környezete között, hogy lassan az egész társdalomban a saját ellenségét látta.
A nép ellenségét Ibsen késői önéletrajzi ihletésű darabjai követték: a Vadkacsa (1884), a Rosmersholm (1886) és a Hedda Gabler (1890).

For the fourteenth time, the Müpa is presenting a concert that brings the spotlight down on the myriad possibilities of the cimbalom and the tárogató. As in previous years, those in the audience in search of novelty and surprises will not leave disappointed, as four remarkably successful cimbalom soloists will take to the stage.
There can hardly be imagined in our time a work that conveys a more important message to humanity, as it debates the possible fate of the earth, about threats to the natural environment than Götterdämmerung does. Perhaps there is still time for us to return the ring to the Rhinemaidens.
Mozart was insatiably in love with life. He embraced everything considered “sinful”: wine, cards, billiards. And his passion extended to musical ornaments: flowery acciaccaturas, trills, cadences others dared not risk, and chromatic runs. But there can be no doubt the main objects of his desire were women. He dedicated several of his masterpieces to one or other of his lovers, who were thus immortalised by these concert and opera arias.
