After first emerging as a representative of Hungarian bedroom pop in the early 2010s, guitarist/singer/songwriter Noémi Barkóczi moved beyond the world of lo-fi to became a popular performer on stages and at festivals across the country with her increasingly distinctive guitar playing, heartfelt lyrics, and well-developed arrangements.
Theatre? Cinema? A concert? How about all three at once? Bori Péterfy has been a key figure in the Hungarian underground scene ever since the late ‘80s. She has amassed a series of acting credits for memorable roles at both independent and traditional theatres, while simultaneously gaining iconic status in the country’s music scene as a performer with Amorf Ördögök and, later on, Love Band.
Every year, Müpa’s annual Advent concert offers a moment of contemplation and helps to evoke the holiday spirit amid the busy period of the festive preparations before Christmas. This year’s concert features the world-renowned German-British baritone, Benjamin Appl, as soloist.
