A külföldiek általában három híres magyart ismernek: Puskás Öcsit, Kodály Zoltánt és Mathiász Jánost – mondta az olvasópróbán Cseke Péter, a gálaest rendezője. – Munkásságát itthon és külföldön is elismerték: több mint 3700 szőlőfajtát nemesített, amelyek közül 50-60-at ma is termesztenek. Uralkodók és a nagypolitika meghatározó figurái versengtek érte, s eredményeit sok helyen a magyarsággal eredményeiként említik. Igazán kijárt már neki egy saját történet, hogy méltó emléket állítson e kornak és e vidéknek, és nem utolsósorban magának az embernek.
A bor nótaszóval az igazi! Olyan bordalok hangzanak el, melyeket szintén ismernek a világon mindenhol. Felcsendül többek között a Csak egy cseppet ittam…, a Délibábos Hortobágyon…, az Egy kis itóka, ha bennem van…, az Úgy szeretek részeg lenni…, és más ismert operett-sláger társaságában nemzetünk egyik leghíresebb operarészlete, a Bánk bán Bordala is.
