A Szent Karácsony éjjelén játszódó varázslatos mese egy kislány beteljesületlen álmáról szól; Diótörő hercegről. Arról, hogy hogyan fénylik fel a karácsonyi csillag; hogy hogyan küzd meg a herceg szerelméért az Egérkirállyal, valamint arról, hogy a barátság mindenen átsegít.
A Budapest Táncszínház előadásán egy olyan táncszínházi élményben lehet részünk, amelyben szervesen kapcsolódik egymáshoz a tánc, a próza, a vizuális effektek, a látvány és a színház. Az előadás – hasonlóan a klasszikus változathoz – elsősorban gyermekeknek szól, amelyben E. T. A. Hoffmann híres meséje elevenedik meg.
