Don Carlos, a szabadság és az önkényuralom elleni lázadás szimbólumává vált, mióta Schiller monumentális drámai költeménye 1787-ben nyomtatásban megjelent. Schiller remekművének központi figurája azonban nem a címszereplő, a boldogtalanul szerelmes spanyol infáns, akitől apja elrabolta a menyasszonyát, sokkal inkább Posa márki, az önfeláldozó, szolgálatkész jóbarát, az elvakult idealista, aki semmiféle cselszövéstől nem riad vissza, hogy helyreállítsa az emberiség elvesztett méltóságát, és kivívja a gondolat szabadságát, de még inkább az öregedő Fülöp király, aki hatalmától megmerevedve és kétségeitől tébolyultan, magányosan ül trónján, féltékenyen óvja koronáját és feleségét még saját fiától is. Az ő kezeik között Don Carlos, a lánglelkű, romantikus ifjú csak áldozat lehet.

Following the great success of their 2023 concert, the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra returns to Müpa Budapest under the baton of their new music director, Martin Rajna. The thoughtfully assembled programme vividly demonstrates the manner in which this excellent ensemble is entering a new chapter in its history full of dynamism and optimism.
Founded in 2015, aurevoir. has achieved one success after another, and has consistently provided their audience with explosive live experiences. On this occasion, they will be seeing out 2026 with a stellar line-up of special guests. At their year-end concert entitled Antológia (“Anthology”), the band will present a selection from their entire career to date.
Founded in 1999, the Liszt Prize-winning, Debrecen based Talamba has been one of Hungary’s leading percussion ensembles for 27 years - and as the title of their new programme - making its debut at Müpa - suggests, they keep moving forward, and their rhythm continues unabated.
