And I stayed at home.
And I tried to read books, and I tried to listen to music,
and I tried to rest, and I tried to do yoga.
And I tried to put things in order, and I tried to play,
and I tried to find new ways of being, but at last I stopped.
And I listened deeper.
And I felt boredom and pain, and I could not make art anymore,
Then I meditated and prayed.
And I began to think differently.
And I met my shadows, and I defeated them,
and I started to heal.
But my Father did not, and he passed away.
And when the danger moved on, and people found each other again,
I was alone, and I was in grief.
I fought against the sorrow with my power of imagination,
and I created a world with full of joy and playfulness,
where every single human being is careless, funny and free.

Formed in New York in 1986, The Klezmatics revolutionised klezmer, the Yiddish instrumental dance music style rooted in Eastern Europe. Now celebrating its fortieth anniversary, the ensemble was one of the first and biggest stars of the genre at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s, around the time when world music was gaining ground as a separate musical category. To this day, the band remains one of the best-known groups on the klezmer scene.
Lírai dalszövegeivel, szüntelen kísérletezőkedvével és Bocskor Bíborka azonnal felismerhető, érzékeny előadásmódjával a Magashegyi Underground immár két évtizede a hazai alternatív pop egyik legeredetibb formációjának számít.
This programme is like a lavishly laid festive table set in the heart of Krakow: behind the dishes lie deep emotions, rich tradition and special musical seasonings. It kicks off with Stanisław Moniuszko’s fabulous fantasy overture, which combines a pinch of romance and a helping of fairy dust with lots of dramatic magic.
