Magyarországon a kétezres években meghökkentően sok, kamaszok által elkövetett szülőgyilkosság történt. Az European Theatre Convention Young Europe III. „Age of Rage” című koprodukciós projektje kapcsán ezt a jelenséget találtuk a legdrámaibbnak, amit fontos a színház eszközeivel is bemutatni. A valós esetek alapos tanulmányozása után egy fiktív, ál-dokumentarista történetet alkottunk, amelyben szándékosan kerültük az olyan kézenfekvő indítékokat, mint a nincstelenség, a drogfüggőség, vagy a súlyos pszichiátriai terheltség. Arra voltunk kíváncsiak, hogy látszólag konszolidált, már-már jólétben élő fiatalok hogyan juthatnak odáig, hogy – jószerivel az ógörög sorstragédiák mintázata szerint – elkövessék a legsúlyosabb bűnt, az anyagyilkosságot. Attendind a performance of Messiah is always a thrilling experience, but it is especially so when Handel’s work – which has become a national classic in England – is performed by a dedicated ensemble like the legendary German flagship of the international early-music scene: the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, now with over 44 years of history behind it. The storied chamber orchestra will perform with one of the world’s finest mixed choirs, the RIAS Kammerchor, which also hails from Berlin and was founded in the years immediately following the Second World War.
The film opens with a brief musical selection of golden oldies. These are blasts from the past, even if most of them are still popular. Could it be nostalgia? Or do they serve more as an introduction to the main character, who had once been a successful actress? Or perhaps a satirical element that tactlessly reminds us of who our divas sang for amid the whirlwinds of history?
