Neil Simon az amerikai vígjáték első számú mestere. Neve a színházi siker biztosítéka. Marvin Hamlisch az amerikai színpadi és filmzene briliáns alkotóművésze. A magyar nézők a Chorus Line világhírű musical zeneszerzőjeként ismerhették meg. A most bemutatásra kerülő musical a két világsztár együttműködéséből született különlegesen szép, romantikus zenés komédia.
A játék hősei Vernon, a befutott, sikeres slágerszerző, és Sonia, a kezdő dalszövegíró. Mindketten hivatásuk megszállottjai, nem könnyű emberek. Senki sem akar feladni önmagából egy picit sem. A korkülönbség, az ízlések, a temperamentumok különbözősége is mind-mind komoly feszültség forrása.
