Mind közül a legmerészebb Koltay Bálint terve, aki egyenesen Mary kezére pályázik. A fiatalok azonban egymásba szeretnek, annyira, hogy Bálint akkor is kitart Mary mellett, amikor a "gazdag" Gruber közli vele, hogy tönkrement. Ekkor már csak azt kell elrendezni, hogy a magát földbirtokosnak kiadó Bálint valóban fel tudjon mutatni jövendő apósa előtt egy úri kastélyt...
