A Kvartett panelházaspárjának rutinos mindennapjait különös esemény zavarja meg: egy Amerikából érkező idegen kopogtat be hozzájuk, s azt hajtogatja, hogy a családfő, az Öreg mentette meg az életét ’56-ban, hisz ő figyelmeztette a forradalom után sejthető számonkérésekre. A váratlan Vendég sok évtized múltán sem feledi az Öreg jóságát, s most drága ajándékokkal szeretné meghálálni az egykori segítséget. Csakhogy a múltban ragadt és gyanakvó családfő árulónak nevezi a Vendéget, és kitessékeli. Egyszerre szívbemarkoló, szánalmas és groteszk beszélgetésnek leszünk tanúi – amikor a Vendég próbálja meggyőzni az Öreget a napnál is világosabb igazságról, amelyet az valamiért nem hajlandó meghallgatni, még kevésbé megérteni...
Egy Spiró-bemutató mindig fontos esemény a magyar színpadokon, a Vígszínházban pedig azért is különleges jelentőséggel bír, mert a kortárs magyar irodalom egyik legkiválóbb szerzője régóta visszatérő kollégánk.

Although the concept behind the productions has always been a mature one, over the years the Ring has been rejuvenated within the framework of a constant idea and reborn in the details. Another permanent feature is the conducting method - one combining humanism with perfectionism - of music director Ádám Fischer.
There can hardly be imagined in our time a work that conveys a more important message to humanity, as it debates the possible fate of the earth, about threats to the natural environment than Götterdämmerung does. Perhaps there is still time for us to return the ring to the Rhinemaidens.
This programme is like a lavishly laid festive table set in the heart of Krakow: behind the dishes lie deep emotions, rich tradition and special musical seasonings. It kicks off with Stanisław Moniuszko’s fabulous fantasy overture, which combines a pinch of romance and a helping of fairy dust with lots of dramatic magic.
