Brindsley Miller, a fiatal, nincstelen szobrász és kedvese Carol „kölcsönvesznek” a szomszédban lakó Haroldtól – annak engedélye nélkül – néhány értékes, antik bútort, hogy jobb benyomást tegyenek a milliomos műgyűjtőre, aki Miller szobrait jön megnézni és Melkett ezredesre, Carol apjára. Azonban váratlanul betoppan Harold, és Clea, a szobrász volt szeretője. Mi jöhet még? Egy áramszünet. A Black Comedy bravúros trükkje, hogy míg a szereplők a sötétben tapogatóznak, addig a közönség mindvégig mindent lát, és önfeledten kacaghat a világosban.
Az előadást Baráthy György új fordításában és Szurdi Miklós rendezésében láthatja a szolnoki közönség.
Szurdi Miklós, aki nem csak színház, hanem filmrendező, forgatókönyvíró, színházigazgató, és Tv-film-producer, a Família Kft. sorozat egyik megálmodója, nem ismertelen a szolnoki színházba járó közönségnek. 1980-ban itt rendezte, O’Neill Amerikai Elektráját, Udvaros Dorottyával és Margitai Ágival a főszerepekben.
