„Budapest legkisebb színházában voltam az este. Nem is színház ez, nem is varieté, nem is mozi, az egyetlen budapesti cabaret. Ez a pince hölgyeim és uraim, a kabaré terem. Egy elsüllyedt világ. Ezek a figurák, amelyeket önök itt látnak, valamennyien egy letűnt világ szereplői. Ők a múlt századnak frivol gyermekkorában éltek, amelyet némelyeknek még ma is van pofájuk boldog aranykornak nevezni. Ebbe az eltűnt világba léptem be az este, mikor ajtaját kinyitottam…”
