The leading roles are filled by singers who understand and embody the quintessentially Viennese nature of work that is not far from being categorised as an operetta. We welcome familiar faces onto the stage in this production conducted by Nicholas Carter. Rachel Willis-Sørensen has already achieved a memorable triumph at Müpa Budapest, and the same can be said of the tenor Pavol Breslik and the bass baritone Tomasz Konieczny. The latter is a regular performer at the Budapest Wagner Days.
