„Szeretem őt. Jobban szeretem, mint valaha... Egy rövidke elbeszélés témája... Szeretem, szenvedélyesen szeretem, kétségbeesetten szeretem!”
Akunyin azonban nem is csak egy rövidke elbeszélés erejéig tartja a témát méltónak a tollára: kétfelvonásos komédiát kerekít belőle, melyben mindenki keresztül-kasul szerelmes. Olyan fülledt már a levegő a sok szerelemtől meg elfojtott vágytól, hogy Dorn doktornak folyton szellőztetni kell. Egy ilyen nyitva hagyott ablak okozza majdan a tragédiát is, mert azon beosonva valaki egyetlen pisztolylövéssel a másvilágra küldi minden kínok okozóját, Trepljovot, a fiatal írópalántát. Cui prodest? Kinek az érdeke? Kilenc jelenetben kilencen vallanak lehetséges tettük mozgatórugóiról, a bennük évek óta felgyülemlett keserű kiábrándultságról. Még szerencse, hogy műfajunk komédia…
Az előadásban újra láthatják sokunk kedvencét, Gáspár Tibort, és Rusznák Adrienn személyében tündöklő naivát avatunk.

And then crosses through a wall of fire to discover both the woman who is his mate and, through his love for her, fear.
Emmet Cohen has clearly got what it takes. It goes without saying that he is a brilliant pianist who knows to strike a chord with his fellow musicians – legendary figures such as Ron Carter and Benny Golson, leading artists of today like Joshua Redman and Christian McBride, and even the bright hopes of tomorrow, such as Samara Joy and Mejdi Owens – and how to connect with his audience, whether in a jazz club, a concert hall, or online.
