Előadásunkban Munkácsy Mihály képei – illetve egyes esetekben azok részletei, ideértve a vázlatokat és a ceruzarajzokat is – a történet közegét és szereplőit kölcsönzik, a hagyományos és kevésbé hagyományos bábtechnikák használata mellett az animációs film eszköztárának felhasználásával. A produkció tehát egyszerű sztorit mesél el – két, rajzlapról varázslatos körülmények között életre támadó pálcikaember egymásra találását, valamint harcát az ablakon berepülő, infernális léggyel. És ami ennek a mesének a díszletében feltárul, az mind Munkácsy: Munkácsy-vázlatok mint Mukácsy-vázlatok; Munkácsy-portrék mint síkbábok; Munkácsy-felhők mint egy animációs film lepkévé, báránnyá és egyéb állatokká átalakuló szereplői; egy Munkácsy-csendélet teljes, plasztikus valójában; és maga a háromdimenziós ásító inas.
