Az uruguayi sztárénekes szülővárosában, Montevidóban lépett először operaszínpadra 22 évesen, az Andrea Chénier egyik szerepében. A fiatal basszbariton több énekverseny első díjával büszkélkedhetett, amikor azonban 1998-ban a Plácido Domingo nevével fémjelzett Operalia fődíjasa lett, a nemzetközi megkeresések sem maradtak el. Azóta Erwin Schrott neve kitörölhetetlen napjaink operaéletéből, fellépései igazi ünnepnek számítanak a világ szinte valamennyi jelentős dalszínházában és koncerttermében. Repertoárjának gerincét főként a romantikus zeneirodalom, valamint Mozart műveinek nagy baritonszerepei alkotják. Don Giovanni-, Figaro- és Leporello-alakításaival valóságos etalonja lett a Mozart-interpretációknak. A Magyar Állami Operaház színpadainak immáron egy évtizede visszatérő vendége, méghozzá legikonikusabb szerepeiben. Egyik legkiemelkedőbb budapesti fellépése a 2020-as Figaro-sorozat volt, amelyben két-két alkalommal a mű mindkét (bassz)bariton főszerepében láthatták az Erkel Színház nézői, de szintén emlékezetes volt Mefistofele-alakítása a felújított Ybl palotában. A sármos dél-amerikai művész az opera mellett a latin-amerikai zenék, köztük a tangó műfajának elkötelezett tolmácsolója, 2018-as margitszigeti koncertjén erről az oldaláról is megismerhették rajongói. A grandiózus operaprodukciók után a Sztárestek zongorával harmadik évadában tér vissza az OPERÁ-ba, hogy megmutassa sokoldalú tehetségét.

The Innermost Room (or tisztaszoba, literally, ‘clean room’) is an ornately furnished room in provincial homes, which is kept clean at all times and is reserved primarily for the reception of valued guests. In the Székesfehérvár Ballet Theatre’s dance theatrical production, this room with a special status in the house is a metaphor or symbol, denoting a ‘place’ where we keep the treasured secrets of our soul.
Recirquel’s new production, Paradisum explores the myth of rebirth following the silence of a destroyed world, where the means of communication is the body, and the only common language is movement. The creatures of this idyllic existence unfold from the ever-changing, swirling natural forces of the ‘fabric of life’ that pulsates around them, so they can reach the anima mundi, the world soul, through scenes of purification, birth, awakening and ritual.
According to critics, the Serbian cellist Petar Pejčić possesses a “captivating gift for storytelling” (Le Soir). His career has soared since he first attracted attention as the youngest finalist of the 2022 Queen Elisabeth Competition, which he followed up with victory at the 2025 YCAT competition in London. He is currently studying with Frans Helmerson at the renowned Kronberg Academy.
